SOLUTION: In this surface-treated metallic sheet, in which a surface-treated film is formed on a metallic sheet or a plated metallic sheet, the surface-treated film is an organic-inorganic composite film having the component of an aromatic compd. having two or more hydroxyl groups and one or more carboxyl groups in one molecule or the derivative thereof and a structural component derived from an Si inorganic compd., the content of Si in the film is 20 to 850 mg/m2, and moreover, Cr is not substantially contained.
