PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the temperature control from a start to the steady-state operation by using the signal from a temperature sensitive element embedded in a heater housing or a regenerator housing and from a temperature thermal element fitted in the exhaust gas. SOLUTION: A temperature thermal element 6 provided with a protecting tube and for detecting the exhaust gas temperature is provided in front of a heater tube 1. A temperature sensitive element 2 for detecting the housing temperature is arranged inside a wall surface of a regenerator housing 5 of a Stirling engine 3. A pressure control device 7 is controlled on the basis of the signal from the temperature thermal element 6, the temperature sensitive element 2 and an engine speed sensor 8 for detecting the engine speed of the Stirling engine. At the time of starting the Stirling engine, the engine is started by the temperature sensitive element 2 for detecting the wall temperature, and after the start, the pressure control device 7 is operated by the temperature of the temperature sensitive element 2 for detecting the wall temperature of the regenerator housing 5 so as to control the output. With this structure, temperature control from a start to the steady-state operation of the Stirling engine is enabled in the corrosive environment such as the exhaust gas.
