PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a braid material for knitted goods, that has sufficient strength and durability, does not need a specific technique and has high-class feeling. SOLUTION: The braid material for knitted goods is obtained by cutting a silk fabric in fixed width to give a tape-like fabric, bending both side edge parts in the width direction of the tape-shaped fabric, folding both the right and left side edges so that the edges are brought into contact with each other on the central line of the tape-like fabric to form a seam and sticking the folded parts to the tape-like fabric main body by using an adhesive. The product having a specific feeling and durability is obtained by inserting a reinforcing core material into a space between the folded parts and the tape-shaped fabric main body and using Oshima pongee as a silk fabric.
