A valve overlap angle adjustment method of a cam shaft applied to a continuously variable valve timing system is provided to prevent a misfire false detection of an engine of one or more banks due to inequality of the revolution per minute of first and second banks. A valve overlap angle adjustment method of a cam shaft applied to a continuously variable valve timing system comprises: a step(S16) controlling the intake of first and second banks and exhaust valve timing by phasing a cam shaft of the first and second banks; a step(S18) determining the fuel amount learning value to be injected in the first and the second bank; a step(S28) calculating the difference of the fuel amount learning value to be injected in the first and the second banks and the average of the fuel amount learning value; a step determining whether the difference of the fuel amount learning value is less than the first threshold or not; and a step readjusting the intake of the first and the second banks, and the exhaust valve timing in case the difference of the fuel amount learning value is not less than the first threshold.
