摘要 PURPOSE: A fast packet data service method through an SCH(Supplemental CHannel) in an IS-95C CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) system and an apparatus thereof are provided to simultaneously offer the fast packet data service to several subscribers by variably adjusting a data rate of each subscriber according to the number of dynamic subscribers of a full data rate service. CONSTITUTION: The number of full data rate service is determined per a sector of a base station(S1). A base station SCH data rate table is formed according to the determined number of full data rate service for dynamically assigning an SCH data rate to each subscriber(S2). The data rate of each subscriber is dynamically changed in consideration of the base station SCH data rate table according to the number of dynamic fast packet data service subscribers(S3). A base station channel card transmits the determined data rate of the subscriber to a BSC(Base Station Controller)(S4). The BSC transmits data to a mobile terminal at the determined data rate, and the mobile terminal transmits the data at the data rate(S5).
