The drive unit for conveying objects along a roller-track has at least one drive-roller (10) with at least one pivot holder (16) fixed to a frame (36). The drive roller (10) is moved by the pivot holder (16) from a bottom resting position into at least one top operating position. At least one drive-motor (34, 35) transmits torque to the drive roller (10) and pivot holder (16). The frame (36) is fixed to a turntable (42) which turns in relation to a base-frame (43). The turntable (42) has a toothed segment (32) the teeth of which engage with a drive pinion (21) of a drive motor (20).
