PURPOSE:To provide a lithium secondary cell negative electrode whose dendrite crystal growth is suppressed. CONSTITUTION:The board surface portion of a lithium negative electrode is composed of metal lithium 1, constituting a matrix, and any different kind metal element 2 other than the lithium or the cluster of the metal element, dispersed and held in the matrix 1 so as to appear onto the board surface. Portions, where the different kind metal elements 2 appear, become crystal nucleus generating points 3. Since an extremely large number of crystal nucleus generating points 3 exist on the board surface, in an early stage of charging, an extremely large number of lithium crystal nucleuses 5 are generated, and lithium crystals next to each other touche mutually so as to be integrated into a lithium layer 6 while lithium deposition continues. The whole surface of the lithium layer 6 becomes the crystal growing surface, and when the charging continues further, the lithium deposits on the whole surface of the lithium layer equally so that only the thickness of the lithium layer increases. Such a phenomenon as protrudes the crystals partially like dendrite crystals is suppressed this way. |
