PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system, in which a desired curvature state can be set in short time. SOLUTION: On the tip side of an insert part 2, sensors 18a and 18b to detect the curvature state of a curvature part 8 are provided. A CPU 21 determines relationship between a curvature state designated by a remote control 5 and the curvature state detected by the sensors 18a and 18b, and stores the information in an internal memory 27 as precision data. In a designated curvature mode, the CPU 21 uses the information to control a curvature drive part 17 to set the curvature state close to the designated curvature state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
