摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new magnetic separating method and a new magnetic separating apparatus by which prescribed mixed materials can be separated magnetically into each component by magnetic force derived from a huge magnetic gradient and each component separated thus can be kept in high concentration. SOLUTION: A cusped magnetic field is generated in a prescribed vessel 11 by arranging a pair of coils 12 and 13 on the outer peripheral part of the vessel 11 and applying electric currents reverse to each other to the coils 12 and 13. The mixed materials passing through the vessel 11 are separated magnetically into each component by the large magnetic gradient derived from the cusped magnetic field and the large magnetic force derived from the large magnetic gradient and each component separated thus is kept in high concentration.
