PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance and strength of specified monolithic refractories for a molten metal vessel by adding superfine silica powder to the refractories. CONSTITUTION:Monolithic refractories for a molten metal vessel contg. 50-98wt.% zircon, <=48wt.% silica and 2-5wt.% binder are prepd. and superfine silica powder having about 10mum particle diameter and 100-300m<2>/g specific surface area is added to the refractories by 0.1-0.5wt.%. |
