PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a carbonized material having excellent corrosion resistance by incorporating carbon and/or carbon precursor producing a free carbon by heating, silicon oxynitride having a specified Fe content and aggregate. SOLUTION: An org. binder is added to a powdery mixture of a metallic Si powder and a SiO2 powder, and the mixture is compounded, compacted and dried, thereafter the compact is burned at about >=1200 deg.C under a nitrogen atmosphere. Then the burned body is cooled and pulverized, and a prescribed amount of the Fe powder is mixed to prepared the silicon oxynitride powder having 1-20wt.% Fe content. Then about 10-85wt.% aggregate consisting of about 5-50wt.% Fe-containing silicon nitride powder, about 10-40wt.% carbon component comprising a carbon powder such as coke powder and the carbon precursor such as tar and SiC powder, wax stone powder, sintered alumina powder is mixed to the silicon oxide nitride powder, and the mixture is kneaded under heating and compacted, and the compact is heated and burned at about >=1200 deg.C under an inert gas atmosphere such as argon to obtain the refractory. |
