PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which eliminates under-transfer by applying an effective transfer bias related to the transfer of a transfer material in a sufficient level in accordance with each size of the transfer material and accurately controls an applied bias to an image area and a non-image area in order to prevent an image defect on the transfer material or stains of the rear face caused by stuck toner on a transfer carrying belt and prevents each cleaning blade provided on a photoreceptor body or the transfer carrying belt from being turned up. SOLUTION: In the image forming device having a transfer carrying belt device which bears and carries the transfer material to transfer the toner image on the photoreceptor body to the transfer material in a transfer area, a transfer bias roll which functions to apply a transfer bias to only the length corresponding to the width of each transfer material is brought into contact from the inside of the transfer carrying belt constituting the transfer carrying belt device orthogonally to the carrying direction of the transfer carrying belt, and transfer characteristics for respective transfer materials are mad uniform. |
