PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily zoom out and linearly zoom a graphic image. SOLUTION: An area to be zoomed in or out is indicated by drawing a rectangular extending from a 1st corner to a 2nd corner on a display screen (steps 20 to 32) and brought into contact with the inside or outside of the rectangle (steps 34, 36). When the area is brought into contact with the inside of the rectangle, zoom-in operation (step 38) is started to expand the part of the graphic image in the rectangular fully in the display area. When the area is brought into contact with the outside of the rectangle, zoom-out operation (step 40) is started and the graphic image in the display area is compressed to within the rectangle so that the part of the graphic image outside the display area is put in the display area. |
