PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make reproducible a melody sound for notification from an arbitrary start position. SOLUTION: A system CPU 10 reads timbre data of music data selected when the start of the melody sound is indicated out of a RAM 11 and a ROM 12 and sends them to a musical sound generation part 15. Then start position information is read out of a playing start point register 36 and note data of the music data from the position of the start position information are read out of the RAM 11 and ROM 12 and sent to the musical sound generation part 15. The musical sound generation part 15 generates the melody sound from the sent note data according to the sent timbre data and tempo data and outputs the melody sound. Consequently, the melody sound from the arbitrary start position can be heard. |
