BACK LIGHT UNIT AND DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

A backlight unit and a display device having the same are provided to decrease the number of component parts of the backlight unit, thereby simplifying the structure of the backlight unit and improving the efficiency of light transmittance. A backlight unit comprises a light source(100), a light converting unit(200) for converting the light emitted from the light source into uniform light, and a light incident angle controlling unit(300) for increasing the incident angle of the light incident into the light converting unit. The light converting unit includes a light tunnel(210) of which a front face and a rear face are opened and an inside face is formed of a mirror.
