PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit for an air conditioner capable of certainly ozone-disinfecting the inside of the indoor unit by a simple constitution by improving the structure of a filter. SOLUTION: This indoor unit for the air conditioner includes: a roll filter 4 having a filter surface 4b formed inside suction ports of the indoor unit and covering the suction ports, and an airtight surface 4a continuously formed at the filter surface 4b and covering the suction ports and a blowout port; a winder 5 moving the roll filter 4; an ozone generator 9 provided inside of the roll filter 4 and generating ozone; and a control means 11 blocking off a gas outflow from the inside of the indoor unit 1 into a room by moving the airtight surface 4a of the roll filter 4 to a position covering the suction ports and the blowout port, and generating ozone in the indoor unit 1 by the ozone generator 9.
