PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a homogeneous coating liquid which is high in safety, low in cost, and which enables the formation of a light absorbing layer; and a method for manufacturing such a homogeneous coating liquid.SOLUTION: A homogeneous coating liquid used for formation of a light absorbing layer of a solar battery comprises: at least one kind of metal or metal compound, which is selected from a group consisting of a metal of Group XI, a metal of Group XIII, a metal compound of Group XI, and a metal compound of Group XIII; a Lewis base solvent; and Lewis acid.
