METHOD FOR PRODUCING COOKED ANIMAL FEED

The present invention pertains to the feed-mill industry and more precisely relates to methods for producing cooked animal feed which has a longer shelf-life, which is intended for farm animals and poultry and which is made using non-edible waste from the meat industry. This invention essentially relates to a method for producing cooked animal feed which enlarges the number of means available for feed preservation. This method also increases the preservation as well as the nutritive values of the cooked animal feed. This method comprises grinding raw material consisting in non-edible waste from the meat industry, submitting the same to a thermal treatment, removing the fat, cooling the product thus obtained and adding a preservative. The preservative may consist of peat having a dry-substance content of at least 18 %, wherein said peat is added to the feed in an amount of between 13 and 16 % relative to the weight of cooked animal feed.
