PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor for performing a smooth processing in a simple and inexpensive configuration and in excellent accordance with multi-valued image data which is quantized by more than ternary value. SOLUTION: A horizontal edge judging part 231H judges whether a pixel to be considered is a vertical edge pixel or not by considering the matrix of 5×3 pixel with the pixel to be considered as a center. A vertical edge judging part 231V judges whether the pixel to be considered is a vertical edge pixel or not by considering the matrix of 3×5 pixel with the pixel to be considered as a center. A horizontal edge total value arithmetic part 50H obtains the total value of image data with more than one pixels which are arrayed in a main scanning direction with the pixel to be considered as a center concerning the horizontal edge pixel. A vertical edge total value arithmetic part 50V obtains the total value of image data with more than one pixels which are arrayed in a sub-scanning direction with the pixel to be considered as a center concerning the vertical edge pixel. Image data of the pixel to be considered is decided to be one of zero, one, two and three in accordance with the obtained total value.
