PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of manufacturing a retardation film having a slow axis in an oblique direction, at high manufacturing efficiency.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a retardation film includes: a step of obliquely drawing a long-sized film; and a step of joining a terminal end part of the long-sized film having previously undergone the oblique drawing step and a starting end part of a new long-sized film to be joined to the long-sized film, with a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape. A crosswise direction of the long-sized film is at an angle from -10° to 10° with respect to a junction line of the terminal end part of the long-sized film and the starting end part of the other long-sized film.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
