The invention relates to a blocking device for a lock with a key channel (15) and with retaining elements (86) for a body (20), especially a cylinder, actuable by means of a key (2), the retaining elements (86) freeing the body (20) for actuation, after the associated key (2) has been pushed into the key channel. In locks which have become known hitherto, the retaining elements could be actuated not only by the associated key, but also by inadmissible aids, so that the security requirements could not be met in a satisfactory way. These difficulties are to be solved by means of the blocking device according to the invention, a small constructional volume and a low outlay in terms of production being required. To achieve this object, it is proposed that the key channel (15) be assigned a blocking body (24, 80), by means of which the key channel (15) is shut off when the key (2) is pushed in. Furthermore, the key (2) has a recess (102), into which said blocking body (24, 80) can engage when the key (2) is pushed in. <IMAGE>
