PURPOSE:To generate dot data on an outline type even when outlines prescribing the character shape overlap with each other by arranging dots at starting and ending dot positions and outputting them as the dot data on the outline type. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 12, etc., are mutually connected through a bus 18 and an input device 19 and a printer 110 are connected to a microcomputer part 10 through the bus 18. Then intersection information on a scanning line is generated and sorted in increasing order with coordinate values in a subscanning line direction. Namely, when a scan is made with (y)-scanning lines, the information is sorted in the increasing order with (x) coordinates and data on the starting point and ending point of a part corresponding to the inside of the character are extracted from the sorted intersection information. Then a process for arranging dots determined by the obtained starting and ending points is carried out. For example, the dots are arranged at positions obtained by discarding decimal parts of intersection coordinates of, for example, the starting point and ending point. |
