ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE DETECTOR

PURPOSE:To execute the high-sensitive detection of electromagnetic wave by providing a fluorescent fiber containing a fluoresent coloring matter and a wave collecting plate containing the fluorescent coloring matter, and detecting an incident electromagnetic wave on output light issued from the fluorescent fiber. CONSTITUTION:A wave collecting plate 12 contains a fluorescent coloring matter, and emits fluorecent light by converting an incident radiation by fluorescence process. The fluorescent light is concentrated on the end face of the plate 12 and outputted. Fluorescent fiber 13 contains the fluorescent coloring matter, which is excited by the radiation emits fluorescent light, converting the radiation into a fluorescent converted light. The fiber 13 also fluorescently converts the fluorescent light incident from the end face of a plate 10. Light outputed from the output end of the fiber 13 therefore comprises an overlapped light composisting of the fluorescently converted light obtained by direct fluorescent conversion of the radiation and the directly incident fluorescent light which is fluorescently converted on the plate 10 by the radiation fluorescent light converted in the fiber 13 by the fluorescent light from the plate 10. Thus light outputted from the fiber 13 becomes an overlapped light formed of these fluorescent light to be effectively utilized.
