TELEPHONE APPARATUS HANDLING SOUND, PICTURE AND GRAPHIC ANALYSIS SIGNAL AND ITS OPERATING METHOD

PURPOSE: To provide a telephone system enabling the simultaneous transmission of audio, video and graphic annotation by performing encoding as a different logic channel in a data packet on an analog line connecting an exchange type telephone system network and a telephone system. CONSTITUTION: An audio data packet is transmitted from a multi-functional telephone set 101 on the side of transmission through an analog line 102 and a public exchange telephone network at a cyclic rate during a 1st time interval. Similarly, the video data packet and the graphic annotating packet are interleaved by the audio data packet and transmitted on the analog line during a 2nd time interval. A control signal for terminal equipment operation is encoded as the control data packet, as needed and transmitted during the 2nd time interval. Further, while the telephone system is set in a video transmission mode, the audio data packet is transmitted at the 1st cycle rate and when the system is not set in the video transmission mode, this data packet is transmitted at the 2nd cycle rate which is faster than the 1st cycle rate.
