PURPOSE: To provide a battery with low internal impedance by forming a lithium ion conductive solid material coming in contact with a pair of electrodes with amorphous solid electrolyte powder containing lithium sulfide and silicon sulfide and having a mean particle size of specified μm. CONSTITUTION: Lithium sulfide, Li2 S, and silicon sulfide, SiS2 , are mixed in a molar ratio of 2 to 3, the mixture is put in a crucible, heated in an argon stream to 950 deg.C, and melted for 2 hours. The melted material is quenched with a twin roller to obtain a lithium ion conductive amorphous solid electrolyte represented by 0.6Li2 S-0.4SiS2 , and the obtained solid electrolyte is crushed in a powder of a mean particle size of 0.1-150μm. A positive electrode obtained by mixing TiS2 of a guaranteed reagent serving as a positive active material with the solid electrolyte in a weight ratio of 1 to 1 and a negative electrode 2 made of a 0.1mm thick metallic lithium foil are formed in a cylinder through a solid electrolyte layer 3. Positive and negative leads 4, 5 are connected with carbon paste 6, and the whole is sealed with resin 7. A battery with low internal impedance can be provided. |
