PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna system for a mobile communication unit with a configuration that ensures an anti-exfoliation strength and a locking function with an insulator through simple processing. SOLUTION: An antenna element 10, that is extracted from a main body of a mobile communication unit or contained in the main body, is provided to the mobile communication unit. The antenna system for the mobile communication unit has a structure, where part of the antenna element 10 is connected to a sleeve via an insulator made of an electric insulating material as a major part. The antenna element 10 has faces 10A1, 10A2, in parallel with a diametrical direction of the antenna element 10 at a part integrated in the insulator and a plurality of flat parts 10A, whose direction of the faces 10A1, 10A2 differ from each other are provided along the axial direction of the antenna element 10.
