A rotation sensor for sensing the rotational state of a rotary shaft, which comprises a decreased number of parts and can be fixed easily. An elongated holder receiving part (10) is formed in the rear of an opening (7b) in the case body (7) for a motor shaft of a casing (6) accommodating a reduction gear section. A sensor holder (12) incorporating a Hall element (14) serving as a rotation sensor is slid, like the way of assembling the motor shaft (4), in the longitudinal direction thereof and lightly press fitted in the holder receiving part (10).
