PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print Japanese character information in horizontal writing specifications by vertical writing. SOLUTION: A converting part 142 of a printer driver 140 extracts characters included in a character plotting command which constitutes plotting data sent from an operation system. When the characters are two-byte characters, the characters are rotated by 90 deg.. Japanese characters can be printed by vertical writing by converting and printing the plotting data to printing data.
