PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve game ability by playing a desired musical instrument. SOLUTION: A game system 10 includes a music performance game machine 12 and when the power source of the game machine 12 is turned on, the selecting pictures of a game mode, the number of players and a music are displayed on the screen 22a of a home television receiver 22 in order. When the player selects the playing mode of a musical instrument, desired one musical instrument can be selected from a plurality of musical instruments. When the musical instrument is selected, a game is started, the sounds of musical instruments except for the musical instrument which the player is in charge are reproduced and void musical notation marks corresponding to the part of the musical instrument which the player is in charge are scrolled and displayed on the picture of the game. The player can input the playing instruction of the musical instrument by operating an input device 18 or 20. When the playing instruction is inputted at a correct timing, sound which has to be outputted by the musical instrument selected by the player is outputted and the color of the void musical notation marks is changed. |
