PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily hold a card even while the card is inserted by surely inserting the card so as to be easily held in a card insertion mechanism for a portable terminal utilized in an electronic money system for performing transactions through a communication network such as a telephone line and the Internet. SOLUTION: This card insertion mechanism for a portable terminal is provided with a connector part brought into contact with a memory part of a card inside a card inserting part of a portable terminal and a card guiding part supporting both sides of the card to the inside of the card inserting part, and the card is inserted into the card guiding part and used when the card is used.
