PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress influences by reception of a force from the exterior, and to reduce the possibility that a substance in a cover is blown out to the outside of the cover due to arc generation at break.SOLUTION: A protection element comprises a substrate 50, a conductor 54, a pair of lead wires 64, and a pair of brazing materials 66. The conductor 54 is fixed to a front face of the substrate 50. The conductor 54 is cut by melting when a Joule heat integrated value becomes a predetermined value or more. The pair of brazing materials 66 fix respective one ends of the lead wires 64 to a rear face of the substrate 50 along the rear face of the substrate 50. The substrate 50 is formed with a plurality of through holes 70. The pair of lead wires 64 are fixed to the other face of the substrate 50 along the other face of the substrate 50.
