PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that cleans a surface of a photoreceptor with a metallic cleaning blade, and can suppress damage to the surface of the photoreceptor.SOLUTION: A metallic cleaning blade 151 comprises a surface 15e having a polishing area 15d that includes a portion 15m to be in contact with a surface 117 of a photoreceptor drum 11. The surface roughness of the polishing area 15d is defined such that: the ten-point average roughness Rz is made larger than the average particle diameter of an external additive (=0.2 μm) separated from the surfaces of toner particles and attached to a drum surface 117, and the maximum roughness Ry is made smaller than the average particle diameter of the toner particles (=4 to 5 μm).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
