PURPOSE:To enable a dynamic pressure bearing of being used for both the clockwise and counterclockwise rotation by forming more than one and one-half patterns of herringbone grooves on the external face of a shaft part. CONSTITUTION:More than one and one-half patterns of herringbone grooves 3 are formed on the external face of a shaft part 1 held by a bearing part 2 and the clearance 4 between the shaft part 1 and the bearing part 2 is filled with lubricating oil. Consequently, when the shaft part 1 is turned in both the clockwise and the counterclockwise direction, the lubricating oil in the clearance 4 generates a high pressure. The bearing can be used for clockwise and counterclockwise rotation.
