A vertical carrying path switching device that is simple in construction and that can properly switch carrying paths, wherein first to fourth swinging belt conveyors are connected to each other via link mechanisms such that when a first swinging belt conveyor is at its upper limit position, second to fourth swinging belt conveyors are at their lower limit positions with carrying paths of the first and second swinging belt conveyors communicating with each other, that when the first swinging belt conveyor is at its intermediate position, the two to fourth swinging belt conveyors are at their intermediate positions with carrying paths of the first and third swinging belt conveyors communicating with each other, that when the first swinging belt conveyor is at its lower limit position, the second to fourth swinging belt conveyor are at their upper limit positions with carrying paths of the first and fourth swinging belt conveyors communicating with each other, thereby making it possible to properly switch carrying paths.
