<p>An aqueous process is provided for the production of alkali metal silicate solution by the reaction between a suitable hydroxide solution and the bag filter dust from either a silicon smelter furnace, a ferrosilicon smelter furnace or a low-carbon ferrochrome plant and maintaining the temperature of the reaction medium above 70 °C until substantial completion of the reaction by applying external heat thereto.</p> |
