Air-flow directional control for air conditioned air grille in vehicle

The compact control system for altering the setting of the air grill louvres in the dashboard of a vehicle comprises a stepping motor (12) with the rotor fitted with a spindle extending to either side of the motor. The spindle is threaded as is the hole through the rotor. The spindle cannot rotate and the rotation of the stepping motor is translated into a liner movement of the control linkage attached to the ends of the spindle, each side of the motor. No reduction gearing is required and the drive is fitted behind the air grilles in the vehicle dashboard.
