PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent a phenomenon in which toner temporarily recovered by an electrifying member from firmly sticking, for example, to magnetic particles composing the electrifying member and to the surface of a magnetic-particle carrier and to eliminate occurrences of positive ghost and other image defects, in an image forming device that employs a cleanerless system and has a contact electrification means. SOLUTION: In an image forming device which has a contact electrification means 31 for electrifying an image carrier by the abutting of an electrifying member against it and makes a developing means serve also as a cleaning means for recovering transfer residual toner particles, the electrifying member is a magnetic-particle carrier holding magnetic particles thereon. The magnetic- particle carrier is one composed by being provided on its substrate surface with a resin layer containing conductive or semi-conductive fine powder, or it is a resin sleeve containing conductive or semi-conductive fine powder.
