DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device and a driving method for a PDP which can make a display of apparently higher definition even when the same PDP is used. SOLUTION: This is a display panel driving device which displays source image data having scanning lines almost twice as many as scanning lines of a delta array PDP by decreasing the number of the scanning lines almost to a half by a scanning line converting means 9; when pixel data of respective color pixels on scanning lines composed of cells in (h)th and (h+1)th rows of the PDP are computed, pixel data of the cells in the (h)th row are generated from pixel data of pixels of an (n)th scanning line and pixel data of pixels of an (n+1)th scanning line and pixel data of cells of the (h+1)th row are generated from pixel data of pixels of the (n+1)th and (n+2)th scanning lines of the source image data.
