A synthesis method of thiophene based units for metal chelation is provided to improve stability of chelation with metal ions by adding a hydroxyl group, and enhance binding of metal ions by increasing distance between dihydroxyl groups of thiophene. The thiophene ligands for metal chelation are synthesized by modifying disodium 2,5-dicarboxy-3,4-dioxythiophene represented by the formula(2) with thiophene ligand derivatives represented by the formula(3), wherein R is C1-C20 alkyl group, and R' and R" are each independently hydrogen atom or benzyl; and the thiophene ligand derivative is symmetric or asymmetric thiophene ligands having hydrogen bonds, and is synthesized by using disodium 2,5-carboxy-3,4-dioxythiophene.
