PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve fail safe function, which is able to prevent short circuit of an inverter, while restricting an increase of the circuit scale even if power source to a circuit for driving the inverter is lost.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine comprises: an inverter 10; an inverter control device 3; a control signal drive circuit 7; a control circuit system power source PS2; and a drive circuit system power source PS1 having voltage higher than the control circuit system power source PS2. The control signal drive circuit 7 relays a switching control signal generated by the inverter control device 3, and performs a protective operation when an abnormal state occurs in a control signal drive circuit 7 or inverter 10. A protective operation can be performed when a power source voltage applied to the control signal drive circuit 7 is within a protective operation allowing voltage, which is a voltage range lower than the power source voltage of the control circuit system power source PS2. The control circuit system power source PS2 and the power source input part Vin of the control signal drive circuit 7 are connected via a rectifier element Db.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
