According to an embodiment of the present invention, disclosed are a method and apparatus for processing a transmission line image. More particularly, disclosed are a method and apparatus for processing a transmission line image, which can reduce a data storage space, can improve image transmission and processing speed, and can detect a defect of a transmission structure through image analysis. A method for processing a transmission line image according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: loading a photographed original image of a transmission line; identifying the transmission line in the image; editing the image so that a size of the image is reduced; and storing the edited image.
