APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING ABANDONED CHEMICAL WEAPON ARTILLERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for processing an abandoned chemical weapon artillery having a small size, high safety at a low cost capable of processing bombing by mistake of the chemical weapon artillery by a complete control and safely recovering a chemical agent filled in the artillery. SOLUTION: The method for processing the abandoned chemical weapon artillery comprises the steps of limiting a leakage of a current to an electrolytic grinding electrode for cutting into thin round slices, or perforating the artillery outer wall body of the abandoned chemical weapon and except a part to be ground; installing the artillery in a reaction container by using a unit having the container including a mechanism for supplying an aqueous solution containing an electrode to the grinding part; applying a suitable DC voltage between the both of the artillery as an anode and the grinding electrode as a cathode to electrolytically grind the outer wall of the artillery; inactivating a detonating agent and an explosive by the electrolyte flowing into the artillery simultaneously passing through the outer wall of the artillery, thereby completely preventing the bombing by mistake.
