PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add a variation having colorful tone quality to a music sound being generated based on reproduced waveforms by a waveform reproducing device which reproduces waveforms based on stored waveform data, and a waveform reproducing method. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a waveform storing means 13 which stores waveform data for every single pitch or a plurality of pitches that are continuous, a waveform reproducing means 14 which receives a sound generation starting instruction that specifies a pitch and reproduces waveforms with a specified pitch based on the waveform data stored in the means 13 and a shift amount specifying means 163 which specifies a prescribed amount of shift. The means 14 receives a sound generation start instruction and conducts a reproducing with a first pitch stored in the means 13 and specified by the instruction based on the waveform data corresponding to a second pitch that differs by the amount of shift specified by the means 163 compared with the first pitch. |
