PURPOSE:To form an original with ease and to prevent a color shift in an image of a final product, by a construction wherein, at least two images having different lightnesses are identified, and image signals corresponding to the respective lightnesses are outputted. CONSTITUTION:An image pick-up device 58 is provided with a means which identifies at least two images having different lightnesses and outputs image signals corresponding to the images of the different lightnesses. The output is inputted to a thermal head 13, and the images are separately processed on stencil base papers and, in this manner, the images per lightness are extracted from one sheet of original to be processed on the stencil base papers. Accordingly, since two or more stencil base papers with two or more images which were separately processed can be obtained, a proper positional relation between the respective images is always ensured, the original can be formed in a remarkably easy manner, and the color shift in an image of a final product can be prevented from occurring.
