PURPOSE:To obtain a therapeutic agent which regenerates skin simultaneously with a better formation of granulation and has an inhibitory or suppressive effect on the relapse of suppuration by applying chitosan on a sponge-like chitin. CONSTITUTION:Sponge-like chitin is produced by dispersing squid chitin in water and then, drying the dispersed solution. The squid chitin is obtained from various cuttlefishes. As the chitin from squid source to be used, those from the squids belonging to the classes Teuthorida and Sepioida, such as common squid, flying squid, long finned squid and firefly squid are cited. The sponge-like chitin produced is 250mg/cm<3> in specific weight in dry condition and exceeds about 5 in void. Chitosan is produced by deacetylation of chitin and the rate of the deacetylation is in a range of about 60-99%. Therapeutic agent comprising the sponge-like chitin and chitosan is produced by applying the chitosan on the sponge-like chitin. |
