<p>The cosmetic use of topical glyceryl poly(meth)acrylate gels for treating various symptoms and preventing certain skin and mucosal disorders is disclosed. The discovery is useful for treating and preventing sunburn (solar erythema) and/or solar oedema, as well as treating and preventing oral hygiene problems such as dryness, mouth ulcers, dental plaque, periodontosis, irritation, and swelling. The gels consist of glyceryl poly(meth)acrylate, i.e. glycerine, water and polyacrylate, and may contain other polyols to reinforce the beneficial effect. Said gels may be used in sunscreen-type cosmetics and oral and dental hygiene products.</p> |
