Gradient amplifier for magnetic resonance tomography

The gradient amplifier (12) includes at least one regulation arrangement which comprises a comparator for providing a differential regulator signal. A regulator (20, 20', 20") provides a control signal in response to the differential regulator signal. The regulation arrangement comprises a control input (22, 22', 22") for a digital control word, through which a current transmission function of the regulation arrangement is selected from several predetermined transmission functions. The regulator comprises preferably a P regulator branch and an I regulator branch. The regulation arrangement includes preferably at least one adjustable amplifier whose amplification factor influences the transmission function of the regulation arrangement, and is adjustable through the digital control word or a component of it.
