PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new signal peptide which contains a specific amino acid sequence, and allows the efficient production of a highly safe heterologous protein using a chlorella as a host and excretion of a product outside the cell by the gene recombination. SOLUTION: This is a new signal peptide contains the amino acid sequence shown by the formula [X1 is Ser or Leu; (n) is an integer from 5 to 15; X2 is GlySerLeu or ProLeuAla], and is useful because it allows the efficient production of an expectedly highly safe heterologous protein using chlorella as a host and excretion of a product outside the cell because it is expected that the protein might be highly safe to human even if the product is contaminated with impurities derived from the host when chlorella is used as a host for the production of a heterologous protein by the gene recombination. This peptide was obtained by exhaustively carrying out the modification of a general consensus signal sequence of an eukaryotic cell so as to conduct the excretion of protein using a host such as chlorella. |
