<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor enabling a further proper sharpening processing. <P>SOLUTION: This image processor 2 for sharpening a digital image comprises an edge intensity calculation means 32 for calculating the edge intensity of a target pixel that is the object of processing on the basis of the pixel value of an original image; a storage device 22 for storing a lookup table 41 for defining the corresponding relation between the edge intensity and a sharpening intensity predetermined to the edge intensity; and a sharpening means 33 for converting the pixel value of the target pixel for sharpening. The sharpening means 33 determines the sharpening intensity corresponding to the edge intensity calculated by the edge intensity calculation means 32 on the basis of the lookup table 41, adjusts the degree of sharpening on the basis of the determined sharpening intensity to convert the pixel value of the target pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
