<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for knee protection capable of mounting as an air bag assembly, while suppressing an assembly error between an air bag cover and an interior finish part, on a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The air bag device S1 for knee protection comprises a case 13 containing the air bag 55 and an inflator 47 and securely mounted on the body B side of the vehicle with the vehicle rear side opened; and an air cover 30 having a shoulder part 44 and a general part 31 the periphery of which is surrounded by an interior finish member 10b of the vehicle and assembled at the case 13. The air bag device S1 is formed so that the air bag 55, and inflator 47, and the air cover 30 are assembled at the case 13 and loaded on the vehicle with the air bag, the inflator, and the air cover formed into an assembly. The air bag cover 30 is movably assembled to the case 13 in a manner to be capable of absorbing an assembly error between the air bag cover and an interior finish member 10b situated at the periphery. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
